9-11 years: At this critical point in development lessons often need to supplement traditional music classes at school providing
individualized help at home to facilitate ensemble play. Often times this requires cooperation from not only the parents, but also the
schools musical director to establish curricula. Large emphasis on vocabulary, and proper posture ensure that the student will
develop talent in proper classical technique, and that "bad" habits are eliminated early. Basic musical literacy, nuance and history are
necessary and make up a large part of this development.

12-16 years: At this point the students are rendered fully musically literate and are instilled with the importance of self motivation. At this
point parents guide the students practice schedule between lessons to ensure rapid advancement in proficiency. Lesson times grow
longer and concentrated effort is a necessity.

17 and up: From this point on musical nuance and history are as integral as individual instrument knowledge. Musical theory begins to
be as important as technique. In most cases the student already has the drive and desire to play the music and need simply to be
guided towards the proper avenues to ensure success. Great advances are made only by much practice and self motivation. At this
stage the parent and the student mostly control the area and direction of knowledge, the task of the teacher is to hone individual skills
into an overall cohesive, well-rounded package.

Lessons can be done in your home or in my own studio. Times are flexible but lessons for 8 and under will not exceed 1/2 hour.
Teachers and parents with multiple students of the same age will receive discounts for group sessions, but each student will have an
individually tailored lesson plan. Lessons begin $20 and up with the average 1/2 hour lesson at $25.
